He later began promoting towns throughout Mississippi, bringing in talent through Leroy McGuirk's promotion out of Oklahoma, and there began a historic run that included Mid-South, the UWF and ICW Promotions.
When I first got involved in the wrestling business with my father, Mid-South Wrestling was HOT in Mississippi! There were many changes going on within the Promotions at that time, and some really big changes to come. I grew up on Mid-Spouth Wrestling and later AWA and the Texas promotions before finally moving on to Vince. I also grew up on stories from my father of watching Jack and George Curtis in Jackson
throughout the fifties.
Even though I never had the pleasure of seeing them in person, I just wanted to let you know I still appreciate the hard work they put in back in the day.
Without men like them there would be no Sports Entertainment today.
